East Bay Debut

2009 Nascar Drive for Diversity candidate, 18 year old shoe, Samantha Taylor FastSami.com of Bonney Lake, Washington state spent the week in Florida in a winged sprint car at East Bay Raceway Park. Veteran Gene Lasker of Sirius Satellite Radio's Bubba the Love Sponge Show gave her some prerace strategy as he announced his plan to run hard ''in Lasker lane - up against the wall.''

Taylor practiced in Rick Chancey - Giddens' Motorsports prepared sprint cars. She ran 50 consistent laps on Thursday in a super-slick track that had been subjected to torrential rains. Taylor has spent the past several months in a Ford Focus Midget and plans to run in the ASCS and the Winter Nationals during Speedweeks in 2008.

Starting from the back, with three ladies in the field, Taylor finished 6th, the top lady racer. In the Limited Sprint Feature at East Bay, Tim George takes 3rd Lasker took 2d. Frank Beck takes 1st.
